The Loft Cafe Saigon

We decided to check out a random cafe nearby since we had got some extra time to kill. Also wanting to escape the afternoon heat, we rode towards Loft Cafe to get our fix of iced caffeine. The place by itself is a little hard to find as it's located in 26 Lý Tự Trọng, another hipster's gem just right beside THE NEW PLAYGROUND in district one. Located on the second level, the Loft Cafe is more than just aesthetic eye candy.

    Loft Cafe Entrance

Upon entering the cafe, I heaved a sigh of relief. There's no crowd at all, except for 2 lone customers who sad on different sides of the cafe.
No loud chattering ladies who gossip and laughs with waffles in their mouths, or boys who jostle each other in their seats while cussing in profanities in their language (or rather it sound like so).
We walked in where the machinery churned on our left while the kitchen stood at the back.

An Asian lady who sat by the gigantic trademark clock, doing her work while occasionally sipping coffee. From her gesture, it also seems like she's scrolling social feeds on her phone in between work.
The Caucasian lady sat outside, while she reads while enjoying her cigarette with a mixture of the possibly contaminated traffic smog.

We took a seat right in the middle and we got our fix of coffee.
And the staffs' command of English is really good!
I tried an Iced black, and I never know the coffee in Vietnam hits really hard.
I love how the darkness is as black as fudge as you could see the liquid oozing over the ice cubes.
I used my straw to stir it up before taking a sip.
    Yes. It's really that good.

We sat around there while using our phones.
Meanwhile, I begin to start writing down my entry for Loft Cafe.
This, however, is another kind of quiet, as the music droned on.
I begin darting my eyes around, taking photos, videos for possible contents, while taking mental notes on what to write.
I wrote about our adventures in the day, jumping around entries as I was also taking notes on contents that I should create.

    A familiar tune surfaced suddenly.
    "lonely-lonely-lonely-love~"

My heart stopped for a bit at this strange familiarity.
I actually could recognize a Vietnamese song
    Here's the music
I was really delighted to hear something that I recognized.
Prior to this trip, I have been exploring various Vietnamese Indie music and The Sheep's Lonely Love struck a chord immediately.
I hummed along to the music while the song blared on.
It was one of the good moments when you hear something special overseas and you could recognize it.
Their playlist seems to take a turn after awhile, switching up to English Pop music.
Not complaining, but I really could use a cafe with indie/alternative jams.
We ended the coffee session early due to the sudden downpour, but I'll definitely be back here again. Soon.
