Bang Bang Zine
“Let’s check out level 8, do a quick one before we go.”
We were pretty much having art fatigue after going through 9 storeys of shops and galleries in GMBB without a break, and we were almost at our limit at this point. After checking out the 9th level, we then saw some lights at 8 and wanted to take a look.
“Would you guys like to come in?”, a voice from behind said as we were peering into this cozy-looking space.
Reminding me of Ponding in Taipei; this zine studio felt like the wallflower of GMBB, tucked away high up on level 8. We would have missed it had we decided to just leave after checking out level 9.

We were then gestured in after they unlocked the door. Run by a trio of artists, Bang Bang Zine is a zine studio, and you’d notice they have lots of riso print arts around. From artistic knick-knacks to zines and postcards, you’re in for a treat!
I can’t help but notice the different collectives, of which Boundaries spoke to me. I like how they also have zine samples there for you to take a look at. I bought a bunch of postcards, and at this time of writing, I really regret not snagging their Bang Bang Zine Volume 2. They actually have their own zine where they collate their own works in the “season”?
They are also very nice to have let us into their studio/production area, as they notice us taking peeks behind the walls!
There are also workshops available for cozy groups of 4, and it’s definitely a place to consider popping by if you’re traveling with artsy friends.
P.S. I’m glad I managed to pick up Bang Bang Zine Vol 2 shortly after at Ilham Gallery’s Gift Shop.
