Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA)
After an amazing breakfast, we headed to the Seoul Museum of Art, otherwise known as SeMA. This 3 story of minimalistic white compound is probably going to be one of my favourite art space in Seoul.
Since we are traveling during a sensitive period, as the CoVid-19 virus is still going around, it is nice to see the museum taking preventive measures by having hand sanitizers and mask by the counter. Temperature is also taken to make sure that there’s no one having a fever is allowed in the premises.
Moving on into SeMA, I actually love their materials for SeMA. Throughout my museum visit, this is the one that I would really keep with me (though I kept everything), but just because they have all of their artistic description printed in English. I love how I can refer to the brochure throughout the exhibition, flipping the pages while darting my head across the installations.
There are several theme, each to their on in the respective floor, featuring 3 storey of goodness. My favorite is definitely “Compulsion to Repeat”. Perhaps it is also because of this period, I like how the museum is almost empty. There are various art and video installations, from painting, photography to sculpture that would set you in awe.
We checked out the cafe before we left, since we don’t have much time after clocking a lot more time than intended here. It is always amazing to get lost within the arts, and let your thoughts wonder amongst the theme. Though usually I’ll love writing about art spaces to mostly give a rough image on how it is like, the details and little description on the space itself, an art space is always ever-changing, due to their exhibitions. I’ll be back here again SeMA, and this time I’ll be happy to check out the other art spaces surrounding the area when I’m back. There are also a water station (water dispenser with paper cups), and an amazing washroom facilities!
