Bean Brothers Kuala Lumpur
“So this is the place you’re going for brunch,” S texted while sending me a Google map link.
I only briefly saw the name, and the first impression I had was baked beans; possibly because E and I just had a conversation about baked beans.
I thought it was a place where they serve breakfast and beans, so the menu was definitely a pleasant delight. Located right at the left side of Linc’s entrance, we were awed by the two-storey café that covers a huge area. They have a large variety of areas to hang out and eat in.
In the outside area, they have huge fans overhead and the weather is cool. Perhaps the trees help. We spotted quite a few pet owners dining there with their pets seated obediently in one of the seats.
The area inside on level 1 has a few things going on, with the long bench at the side, together with the open-concept barista island where you could see them taking orders and making coffee.
Level 2 felt a lot more quiet and cozy, with a coworking table that could accommodate quite a number of people or maybe even two friend groups. They also have seats that come with a power point for those who are here to sit in and do work.
I like how they were able to make my Aglio Olio without the “kick” (spice), and my boys got the Pesto and Big Breakfast. All of them looked equally good, and I really want to give a shoutout to their generous portions! I’ve never eaten a smoked duck Aglio Olio with enough meat to finish the pasta, but this one left me with around 4-5 spoonfuls of shredded smoked duck after I was done with the pasta. I am so sold by the pasta.
And of course, the coffee! I love how their beverages come with a card—a written entry on their drink. It was then that I realized…
“THE BEAN BROTHERS ARE COFFEE BEANS!!” I exclaimed.
We all had a great laugh before hanging out for a bit. This place is definitely one of my go-to spots when I’m revisiting The Linc.
