Big Fish Small Fish (Bugis Junction)

"You have to try this Fish and Chips.”

“Ahhh, is it really that good?”

I don’t think I remember trying Big Fish Small Fish before, but after Yen’s recommendation, I decided to give it a shot.

It’s a brand name that has been around for quite a while, but I’d never really gotten a chance to try it.

Situated at the top of Bugis Junction, you won’t miss this iconic restaurant alongside with 18 Chef. Perhaps gone are the days of cinemas; where its former glory has lost to the age of digital streaming; F&Bs and beauty parlours took over the space.

The menu isn’t overly complicated and as the name suggests, you’ll definitely come here for the fish despite them having a variety of meat available.

I also like how they have descriptions for them so you don’t feel really lost looking through the different types of fish. It kinda reminds me of the Gatsby wax series where they indicate each “shine” and “holding power”.

I opted for the chips instead of the fries and I’m glad I did. The chips are really amazing. They felt right, crunchy, crisp and I like the tinge of salty aftertaste that came with each bite.

I'm glad I got to try this and it'll definitely be my go-to if I'm craving some fish and chips with some extra cash to spare!
