National Taichung Theater
After being recommended by the locals and having it on my list itself, I decided this would be one of the places I’ll cover when I’m in Taichung!
After an eventful day to the museum of fine arts, I head towards the national theatre from there. The curves of the architecture kinda make it blends with nature, I’ll picture water and caves for this one.
Upon entering the theatre, it’s, however, the opposite. The interior seems so ahead of time, with the little river going through the ground level, the artistically planned space is indeed a visual feast.
All the stores and cafes are really truly visually and aesthetically appealing as they also bring about a soothing sense of peace. I like how it felt like a library as it’s not too noisy. After speaking to the staff, level 1, 2, 5 and 6 are available for visit.
The second floor consists of several theatre spaces. You could sometimes hear the sound of the theatre travel through the cave-ish curves of the building. As if we’re on a cave as we speak (pun)!
The 5th floor felt like another artist market to me. However, they carry bigger and bulkier items compared to the ones in level 1. It is pretty nice checking out the various artworks, it's like a gallery itself when it comes to art shops.
The 6th floor features a really humble roof terrace. I spent a great deal of time wandering around despite the heat. The soothing grass swaying to the occasional wind, the distant chatter that isn't too disturbing and the curvy structure that brings you out of this world.
I love the peace in this space and should they allow food/drinks on the 6th floor, it’s definitely a good place to chill/have some food or even read a book in!
Come check this place out if you’re into arts and architecture! They also have some performances here over here sometimes so do check out the details at their website below :D
