Moom Bookshop
I was introduced to Moom Bookstore by a fellow artist that I met while I was exploring the art spaces in Taipei! Thank you, Ivy! It is truly nice to meet fellow travelers and artists who share the same passion and it is also the best way for you to dig deeper when it comes to exploring the local culture.
It took me some walking, as it was tucked quite a distance away from the train station. But it wasn't too difficult to find because of the GPS. The clean white exterior felt like a pearl and perhaps the name moom felt a lot like moon. It felt pretty aesthetic due to their symmetry. Their URL is pretty cute too, moom.cat.
Okay, so this amazing independent bookstore actually specializes in photography. So.... photographers, this is gonna be a haven for you. They feature mostly materials from independent publishers around the world
I love the ambiance of the store, like the music that'd been playing. The whole lo-fi and chill vibe really brings out the whole monochromic theme. There's also a mini-exhibition area for them to showcase their featured art project. What actually captures my attention is the artistic merchandise that they also carry.
